Configuring a Referral Number

In order to use the Referral Number in New Charge, you must configure it in the Administration section.

1.Click “Manage Insurance” corresponding to the Insurance Name to open the Insurance Details window of the selected insurance.
2.Scroll down on the Insurance details screen and expand the HCFA Configuration panel by clicking the arrow.
3.In the HCFA Field, select 17a.
4.In the Primary field, select Referral Number from the drop-down list. Similarly, you can select the Referral Number option in the Secondary and Tertiary fields, if required.
5.Click Add.

Note: In the HCFA field, select 9A and select the Preferred TPL codes in the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary fields  to use when transmitting the claim. This will be printed on the HCFA form as well.
