Adding an Image of the Patient’s Insurance Card

Disclaimer: This section is only applicable to those InSync users who have purchased an optical card reader (OCR) scanner from InSync HCS. This type of scanner reads the patient information from the insurance card and prepopulates it within the system. To find out more about purchasing an OCR scanner, please speak to a Customer Support representative.

InSync users who have purchased an optical card reader (OCR) scanner from InSync HCS have the option of uploading an image of the patient’s insurance card.

To upload the insurance card image:

1.Click the Scanner icon located at the top right corner of the “Insurance Details” screen.
2.The user will be prompted to place the card on the scanner or insert the card for scanning, depending on the scanner being used.
3.The user will then be directed to the “Document Management” section of the software, where you can browse for and attach the scanned card to the file.
